The best way to learn any language is to use it, so throw away your bilingual dictionaries and pick up an English learner’s dictionary instead. To put it simply, use English to learn English.

It may take a little more time; and yes, you may have to look up a word or two in the definitions provided, but this is all good practice as you expand your knowledge of vocabulary.

What’s more, you can learn the true meanings of words rather than just the Chinese translations. This is very important, as some English words have no exact equivalent in Chinese; and indeed, some Chinese words can be translated into many different English words.
